Marathon Runners Do a Lap of Honour

The musical-theatrical adaptation of Dušan Kovačević's cult black comedy brought to the Terazije Theatre stage a completely new and original vision of the story of the Topalović undertaker family. Premiering in May 2008, this authentic Serbian musical achieved extraordinary success, winning the affection of audiences throughout the region as well as a record ten awards at the Days of Comedy festival.

Ivan Bosiljčić plays Mirko Topalović, the youngest member of this bizarre family, who desperately wants to escape the family business, dreaming of films and his love for Kristina. Director Kokan Mladenović's choice of Ivan Bosiljčić for this role was a theatrical precedent that opened new acting terrain for the young performer and brought him his first career awards. Another interesting feature of this production is that three different composers each musically illuminate a separate segment and atmosphere of the story — the Topalović family, Billy Python and Đenka the Devil.
