Gypsies Fly to Heaven

The musical "Gypsies Fly to Heaven", based on Maxim Gorky's early short story "Makar Chudra", is one of the most enduring and beloved productions in the Terazije Theatre repertoire. Since its premiere in April 2004, this work has brought audiences the incomparable romantic legend of the passionate, unbridled and tragic love between the beautiful Gypsy girl Rada and the proud horse thief Lojko Zobar.

Ivan Bosiljčić has given a brilliant performance as Lojko Zobar for over twenty-two theatre seasons, bringing to the stage powerful emotion, a distinctive temperament and outstanding vocal abilities. Together with the finest Russian Gypsy songs composed by Yevgeny Doga and an unforgettable choreography by Krunoslav Simić, a true musical and theatrical spectacle has been created — one that celebrates freedom and rejoices in life, and for which audiences always demand more tickets.
