Wounded Eagle

"Wounded Eagle" (2008/2009), a screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Milica Jakovljević Mir-Jam directed by Zdravko Šotra, is one of the greatest television and cinematic phenomena in the history of Serbian film. Set in the period between the two world wars, the story follows Anđelka Bojanić, a young and naive girl who, fleeing her past, finds peace and new love in the south, in the picturesque town of Trebinje.

Ivan Bosiljčić delivered an unforgettable performance as the dashing pilot Nenad Aleksić. His romantic and gentlemanly presence, together with his extraordinary chemistry with Sloboda Mićalović, made this couple one of the most beloved in Serbian popular culture. The series broke all viewing records, while the feature film version filled cinemas throughout the region, permanently inscribing this production in the annals of domestic television.
